Many of the early Catholic residents received their sacraments at this early church of 1819 - present. Parish register starts in 1819, but the first church, was located on the Provincial park hill, then this present structure was built in 1878.
Distant parishioners would either travel to the church or sometimes the priest would travel to the communities.
This photo was taken abt. 1905-1906, as you can see the poles behind the church, for the building of the post office which opened its doors in 1906. contributed by Perle Connolly
