Lower White Haven, June 12: A dance was held in Trinity Hall Saturday evening June 10. A large crowd was present. Proceeds for the Boy Scouts. [Note from Peggy: my aunt's diary for June 10 said there was at the dance a "Crowd from Canso - girls."] Reginald Uloth, Aldershot training Centre, spent the week end with
his aunt Mrs George Grover and Mr Grover. [ note from Peggy, Mrs
George Grover was the former Ethel Uloth, daughter of Henry Uloth] Mrs Samuel Porter and daughter Miss Helen have arrived home having spent some time at New Glasgow J H Duncan daughters Misses Beatrice, Pearl and Kay were motor visitors to Canso on Friday Mrs Staples and little daughter have arrived to spend some time with her husband. They are occupying the house recently vacated by Albert Munro's family. Mr and Mrs Albert Munroe and family Yankee Harbour, were visitors here on Sunday and attended the service in the United Church Trucks owned by Hendsbee, Half Island Cove, and Matthews and Scott, Queensport make daily visits here for the fresh fish. Bernie Munroe and Ray Armsworthy, Queensport spent the week end at their homes here. The Anglican Sewing Guild met with Mrs Thurlo 'Munroe Thursday evening. |
