PELRINE, Clarence A. -- 79, Halifax, passed away on June 26, 1999, at home after a short and courageous battle with cancer, maintaining his well known and keen sense of humour and memory for story telling. Born in May 4, 1920, in Port Felix, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Jeffery and Mary (Bond). He was retired from HMCS Dockyard after 35 years service and formerly with The Amusement Company and Casino Taxi. Clary was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting,fishing and camping. He.was a longtime camper at Sand Point Campground. He had resided in Fairview since 1943 and a was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by sons and daughters, Michael (Virginia), Williamswood; Janet MacNeil (Arthur), Lantz; Peggy Clark (Ran), Harrietsfield; Robert (Shirley), Lakeside; brothers, Stanley and Jimmy, Halifax; Walter, Port Felix; Clayton, Arichat; sisters, Rita Dorey (Art), Hammonds Plains; Jean Perry (Oscar), Bedford; Matilda Gaudet (John), Janvrins Island; also 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and loving companion of 16 years Rose Curtie. He was predeceased by his wife, Violet (Quaintance); sister, Geneva O'Leary; brothers, Wallace and Lawson. Visitation in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd. Funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, in. St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Dutch Village Road, Rev. Owen Connolly officiating. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Reception to follow in St. Lawrence Church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to Palliative Care Unit, QEII.
