AVERY, Robert Ulysses Sr. - 64, Lundy, Guysborough Co., died Thursday, January 11, 2001, at home. Born in Larry's River, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Peter and Mary (Pellerine) Avery. He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Larry's River. At the age of 20, he moved to Boston where he was employed for the next 37 years as a masonry worker. He was particularly skilled in the art of brick home construction and plaster of Paris work. He is survived by sons, Kenneth (Diane), Medford, Mass.; Paul (Marylou), New Hampshire; Robert Jr., Southboro, Mass.; Raymond, Mass.; daughter, Donna Santamaria, Southboro, Mass.; brothers, Calis, Port Hood; sisters, Anna Richard, Mass.; Loretta Richard, Dartmouth; Anita (Mrs. William Askew) and Helen (Mrs. Francis Fennessey, both of Halifax; grandchildren, Jenna, Nicholas, Paul, Olivia and Nicole; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Leonard, Daniel, Joseph and John; sisters, Margaret and Sabina. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday, funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, both in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Larry's River, Rev. Charles Donovan officiating. Burial in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery, Larry's River. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements for the late Robert Ulysses Avery are entrusted to the G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
