FRANCIS, John Joseph - 57, Larrys River, Guysborough Co., died June 25, 1997, at Loon Lake, Guysborough Co. Born in Salmonier, Nfld., he was a son of the late Thomas and Genevieve (Brake) Francis. He was a retired seaman, having worked with the Bedford Institute of Oceanography and as a wheelsman with Texaco Canada on their oil tankers. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, Larrys River, and an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Torbay Branch 117, Charlos Cove. Surviving are his wife, the former Julie Pellerin; son, Thomas, Sackville; daughter, Karen, Fairview; brothers, Raymond, Halifax; Michael, Leonard, Marystown, Nfld.; sisters, Marie (Mrs. James Cole), Burin Bay, Nfld.; Agnes (Mrs. Jerry Smith), Lucy (Mrs. Joseph Flemming), Marystown; four grandchildren. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Saturday, both in St. Peter's Church, Larrys River, Rev. Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating. Burial in St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations to Guysborough Memorial Hospital or any charity. Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
