COX, Freeman Stanley - 90, 824 Summer St., New Glasgow, died Saturday, September 7, 1996, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Port Felix, he was a son of the late Andrew and Charlotte (DeCoste) Cox. He was a retired employee of Standard Clay and worked in school maintenance in New Glasgow for a number of years. He was a member of St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, where he was a warden for a number of years. He was an avid fan of hockey, baseball and boxing. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Seventh Artillery. He is survived by daughters, Dorothy, at home; Agnes and husband Jack MacKay, Stellarton; sons, Rod and wife Dorothy, Sydney; Jim, at home; Dr. Jamie and wife Cathy, Fort Definance, Ohio; grandchildren, Wayne, Glenn, Conor, Chelsea, Mariah. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Christine Gilbert; sisters, Jane, Anne; brothers, Enos, John, Lev. Funeral service will be held 9 a.m. today in St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Bernard MacAdam officiating. Burial in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to St. Gregory's Church building fund, family services or charity of choice.
