AVERY, William Joseph (Bill) - 83, formerly of 346 Brother St., New Glasgow and Walkerville, died July 26, 1994, in Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital, Pictou. Born at Larrys River, he was a son of the late Augustus and Catherine (Gerrior) Avery. He was a retired employee of Maritime Steel and Standard Clay. He is survived by his wife, the former Annie Cox; two daughters, Hazel (Mrs. John Hughes), Plymouth; Helen (Mrs. Kenneth Guthro), Walkerville; three sons, John, Truro; Cecil, Westville; Joseph, Trenton; brother, Joe, Montreal; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters, Mary (Dolly) Arthur; Isabel; two brothers, Abraham, Cecil. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Bernard MacAdam officiating. Burial will be in Priestville Cemetery. Donations may be made to Priestville Cemetery.
