JEROME SIMON RICHARD

RICHARD, Jerome Simon - 71, Halifax, and formerly of Charlos Cove, Guysborough Co., died Sunday, January 14, 2001, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Charlos Cove, he was a son of the late Simon and Mabel (Levangie) Richard. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Charlos Cove and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Halifax. In the 1950's he moved to Halifax and was employed on the Halifax waterfront as a labourer. He is survived by his wife, the former Vina Berthier, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, William Basil; sister, Dora Pettipas. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, both from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Charlos Cove, Father Charles Donovan officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
