BROWN, Herbert C. - 80, Eastern Passage, died September 4, 1998, in Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage. Born in Port Felix, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Walter and Catherine (Pellerine) Brown. He was a stationary engineer at Shearwater and the Nova Scotia Hospital. He was also an engineer at Debert Shelter and had retired as an engineer from the Bedford Magazine. Surviving are his companion and friend, Florence Crosby (Granny); daughters, Sheila, Dartmouth; Marilyn, Cole Harbour; Linda, Enfield; sons, Robert, Paul, Dennis, Dartmouth; Laurie, Rawdon; brothers, Daniel, Spryfield; James, Bedford; sisters, Alice, Spryfield; Ethel, Dartmouth; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grand-children; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel; two brothers; a sister; two grandchildren; a son-in-law. Cremation has taken place. Legion service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Royal Canadian Legion, Caen Branch 164, Eastern Passage, Rev. John Ferguson and Lucy Osborne officiating. Family graveside service to follow in St. Peter's Anglican Church cemetery. Reception to follow in the legion. Family flowers only. Donations to Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage, or St. Peter's Anglican Church, Eastern Passage.
