WELLS, William Thomas "Bill" - Passed away on July 19, 1999. He was born in Port Felix, Guysborough Co., on December 5, 1908, the son of the late James and Margaret (Bellefontaine) Wells. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a veteran of the Second World War and served overseas during that time. Upon returning home, he became a member of the civil service, working in the dockyard and retiring in 1972 after 42 years of service. Bill, as he was known to all, was an avid outdoorsman, loved gardening, fishing, hunting and travelling. He was a great lover of cards with family and friends attending the card clubs in the Dartmouth area and will be missed by the many friends he made. He always seemed to have the ace of hearts. He was a member of Dartmouth Seniors and past member of Nantucket Seniors. He is surviving by his second loving and caring wife of 21 years, Vera (Weston) (Baker); daughters, Shelagh Conrad, West Lawrencetown; Patsy Sharpe, Eastern Passage; Janet Fultz, Halifax; sons, Ronald, Dartmouth; Robert, West Lawrencetown; adopted son, Vincent Marr, Porters Lake; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with five stepchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lena (Pellerine); sisters, Nellie, Margaret, Mary, Nora and Edith; and granddaughter, Cathy Sharpe. No flowers by request. Donations to St. Clements Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Remains resting at Dartmouth Funeral Home, Queen Street. Visitation today, July 21, from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Clements Church, Gaston Road, on Thursday, July 22, at 10:30 a.m. with burial in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
