GEORGE, Florence Marie - 68, Upper Whitehead occurred September 16, 1999, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Queensport, she was a daughter of the late Alphonse and Gertrude (Richard) O'Leary. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Port Felix, past-president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Whitehead Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 117, Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are daughters, Vonda (Tim), Peas Brook; Susan (Kevin) McKeough, Fox Island; Linda (Michael) Hoglund, Lower Sackville; Cathy (Michael) Vander Putten, Cole Harbour; sons, Eugene (Marjorie) O'Leary; Harvey (Clarice) George, both of Upper Whitehead; sisters, Agatha Feltmate, Charlos Cove; Mary Ann Casey, and Ruby (Nick) Carter, Tena (Malcolm) Fancey, all of Queensport; Helen (Bill) Brown, Barrie, Ont.; Minnie (Joseph) Durant, Pomquet; brother, Osborne (Winnie) O'Leary, Queensport; grandchildren, Cathy, Darlene, Natasha, David, Katrina, Christopher, Daniel, Jeffrey, Stephen, Jeremy, Sterling; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Samantha; 82 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her by husband, Percy; daughter, Nancy; brothers, Thomas and Leo; a sister, Alice. Visitation 2-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Queensport, Rev. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
