JOSEPH LIVINGSTONE MUNROE

MUNROE, Joseph Livingston - 74, Tor Bay, Guysborough Co., died Friday, May 17, 2002, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Charlos Cove, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late George "Link" and Mary "Minnie" (Grover) Munroe. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired commercial fisherman and maintenance worker having worked in several hospitals around the province. He was an active member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 117, Tor Bay. He was known for his love of carpentry and woodworking tools, telling stories and playing jokes. He is survived by his wife, the former Joyce (Peart) Gammon, Tor Bay; stepson, Fraser Gammon, Drum Head; stepdaughter, Linda Mannette, Larry's River; brother, Basil Munroe, Charlos Cove; sisters, Pearl Doiron, Charlos Cove; Leona Richard, Fox Island; stepgrandson, Peter Gammon; several nieces and nephews. Visitation was 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. today, both in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Larry's River, Father Will MacPherson officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, New Harbour. Memorial donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Members of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 117, Tor Bay, are asked to meet in the church at 10:30 a.m. today before the funeral mass. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to G.W.
