MUNROE, John Everett - 84, Pine St., Pictou, died June 13, 1996, at home. Born in Cole Harbour, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Abner and Wilma (Munroe) Munroe. In his early years of life he was an inshore and offshore fisherman. In 1957 he joined the Canadian Hydrographic Services, working on survey vessels, The Articsealer and Capuskasing in Northern Canada. He then worked as a marine fitter at Ferguson Industries in Pictou until his retirement in 1977. Surviving are his wife, the former Vera Peart; sons, Ross, Kenneth, Dartmouth; Perry, Pictou; Irad, Toronto; Hugh, Calgary; 13 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; sisters, Grace Litchfield, Worchester, Mass.; Helen MacLeod, Boylston, Guysborough Co. He was predeceased by three siblings in infancy; his only daughter, Irene. Funeral 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Church of the Good Shepherd, Tor Bay, Guysborough Co. Donations to The Lung Association or Canadian Red Cross. Arrangements entrusted to McLaren Funeral Home. | |
