ARNOTT, James Albert (Lt.-Cmdr.) (Ret'd) - 80, Whitehead, Guysborough County and Fall River, Halifax County, died August 15, 1993, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Montreal, he was a son of the late James and Lillian Maude (O'Hara) Arnott. He was in the navy for 41 years until his retirement from College Militaire Royale, St. Jean, P.Q. He was a professor of physical education at the University of Ottawa; an executive director at Sports Canada; member of Grace United Church and Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Whitehead and a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Banch 117, Charles Cove. He is survived by a daughter, Marcia Kennedy, Charles Cove; son, Robert, Fall River; sister, Flora (Mrs. Joseph Trainor), Montreal; six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marion Evaline Munroe; brother, Robert. Visitation will be from 12 noon today until time of funeral at 2 p.m. today in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Rev. Peter MacRae officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
