Lester James Feltmate, 89, Canso Tickle, died January 29, 1994, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Lower Whitehead, he was a son of the late Garfield [should read Galford] and Bridget [should read Brittle] (Dobson) Feltmate. He was a retired carpenter and a former Warden of All Saints Anglican Church, Canso. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Pictou Highlanders and past president of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 46, Canso. He is survived by his wife, the former Amanda Newell; daughter, Gloria (Mrs Goldwin Foster), Haliburton, Ont; three sons, Reginald, Lower Sackville; Brian, Terry, both of Edmonton; two sisters, Mrs Ann Smith, Lower Sackville; Dolena (Mrs Charles Ward) New Glasgow; brother Oakley, Guysborough; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Sadie, Goldie. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 pm today and Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral will be 2 pm Wednesday in All Saints Anglican Church, Rev Paul Wilkie officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Donations may be made to All Saints Anglican Church Building Fund. |
