AVERY, Irvin Daniel - 77, 202 Munroe Ave., New Glasgow, died February 11, 1996, in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Lundy, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Anthony and Amelia (Richard) Avery. He was a resident of Munroe Avenue since 1949, prior to which he resided in Lundy. He was a former employee of MacGregor Bedding from where he retired, member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church and an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Stella DeGruchy; sons, Daniel, at home; Harry, Saltsprings; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; adopted daughter, Pauline Parks, Halifax; brother, Michael, Lundy; sisters, Clara Gerrior, Garnet Pettipas, Abbie Levangie, Lundy; Mary DeCoste, New Glasgow; Ethel Avery, Guysborough; Mildred Sanford, Sommerville, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Joe; brothers, John Simon, John Andrew, Wilson; sisters, Helen, Margaret Jane. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Charles Cameron officiating. Burial in parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to VON or Our Lady of Lourdes parish fund. |
