Reginald "Reg"
AVERY, John Reginald "Reg" - 80, Halifax, passed away Sunday, October
12, 2003, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a brief
and courageous battle with cancer. Reg was born in Larry's River, and
was a son of the late Bert and Cecilia (Gerrior) Avery. He was a veteran
of the Second World War and later worked as an electrician for Bedard-Gerard,
Fairey Aviation and DND Dockyard, Halifax, retiring in 1988. He was
a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife, L. Camilla (Pellerin); daughters, Estelle
(Bill) MacMaster, Jean (Alphonse) Pitts, Lynn (Daren) Moulstone; sons,
Doug (Jennifer), Gerard (Tracey); sister, Blanche
(Pat) Tully; grandchildren, Daniel and Kaleigh MacMaster, Sarah, John
Mark and Matthew Pitts, Jessica Kennie, Patrick Felix, Chad, Nicole
and Ashley Avery, Kyle and Brandon Avery, Emily, Megan and Christopher
Moulstone; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter,
Blanche Kennie; brother, Con Avery. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666
Windsor St., Halifax with visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral
mass 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen's Church, Normandy Drive, Halifax,
Rev. Douglas Murphy and Rev. Gilbert Bertrand, OMI officiating. Burial
in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made
to the Canadian Cancer Society, Nova Scotia Autism Society or a charity
