RICHARD
(Richard), Mary Elsie
RICHARD (Richard), Mary Elsie - 88, Windsor, formerly of West Chezzetcook,
peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2005, in Hants Community
Hospital, surrounded by the praying hands and love of her family. Born
in Charlos Cove, July 8, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Jeffrey
and Suzanne (Pellerine) Richard. A quiet and gentle woman, Elsie devoted
her life to her family and her faith. She will always be remembered
and deeply missed as a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her happiest
times were spent with her family and she delighted in the company of
her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid reader, Elsie enjoyed
sharing and discussing her favourite books on spirituality and faith
with her friends and family. She was a parishioner of St. Johns the
Evangelist, Windsor, former member of the Catholic Women's League, former
parishioner of St. Anselm's, West Chezzetcook, and St. Joseph's, Charlos
Cove. Up until her last year, Elsie spent many happy summers in her
childhood home of Charlos Cove with her brothers and sisters. Left behind
to remember her with love and prayers are her children, Elaine (Francis)
Cooke, Louisdale; Kenny (Bernadine), John (Gloria), West Chezzetcook;
Donald (Joanne), Falmouth; Paula (Richard) Myers, Jeddore; Anne Marie
(David) Sinclair, Lake Echo; Theresa (Gary) Babineau and Vincent, West
Chezzetcook; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sister
Therese Richard, CSM, Antigonish; Sister Anita Richard, CSM, Cape Breton;
brothers, Leo, Charlos Cove; Francis (Ida), London, Ont.; and sister-in-law,
Rita Richard, Montreal. She joins in Heaven her husband, William "Billy
John" Richard; sisters, Agnes, Margaret and Minnie; brothers, Albert,
Leonard, Willie and Tommy; and great-grandson, Francis Zareski. Visitation
will be held today in Rowlings Funeral Home, Musquodoboit Harbour from
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be Wednesday, February 9, in
St. Anselm's Parish, West Chezzetcook, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division.
