MUNROE, Granville Aston
MUNROE, Granville Aston - 87, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 31, 2006, in Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 13, 1919, in Whitehead, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Harvey and Charlotte (Conrad) Munroe. Granville served overseas during the Second World War from 1940-45. He worked as Department Manager of Orderlies and Paramedics at the Victoria General Hospital, and was instrumental in restructuring the areas of training and job descriptions for orderlies and paramedics. Granville is survived by his companion of many years, Violet Saulnier, Dartmouth; daughters, Lee Ann (Bob) Hatcher, Scotch Village; Dr. Fonda Munroe (Norman), Ottawa; grandchildren, Kelly, John, Mark, Catherine; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Robert; sister, Jenny Graves, New Brunswick; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Edith (MacDonald); many sisters and brothers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Private family interment has taken place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
