LOUDEN MUNROE

 
Louden Munroe, White Head, April 20 - The community of White Head was saddened by the death of Louden Munroe which occurred at his home on March 27. Deceased had been in ailing health for the past three years and had received treatment at St Martha's Hospital, Antigonish, the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. He spent most of his eighty-four years in White Head, except a number of years he went fishing out of the port of Gloucester, Mass, during the days of wooden ships and iron men. Mr Munroe was twice married, his first wife was the late Mary Gillis of Inverness. He leaves to mourn his wife, the former Violette Fitz Gerald; eight sons, Hugh and Lawrence, Inverness; John, Lynn, Mass; Gerald, Halifax; Burns, Quebec City; Percy, Russell and Reginald, White Head. two daughters, (Christina) Mrs Beryl Ruggles, Detroit, Mich; (Margaret) Mrs George Whynact, Lunenburg. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. R MacLeod, St Joseph's church, Port Felix. Interment was in St Joseph's cemetery. Pall bearers were, Arklo, Lawrence, and Ronnie Munroe, Wilfred Conway, George Fraser and John MacDonald.
