PELLERIN, Percy James - 95, Larrys River, Guysborough Co., passed away June 5, 1997, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born at Larrys River, he was a son of the late Simon J. and Sophique (Avery) Pellerin. After completing high school in Antigonish, he worked for several years in Massuchusetts. He joined the St. F.X. University Extension Department in 1940, and spent the next 29 years as an organizer of co-ops and Credit Unions throughout the Maritime provinces. He served many years as a director of the United Maritime Fishermen and as manager of the Antigonish Co-op Fishermen. Following his retirement in 1969, he served two terms as municipal councillor; served as chairman of the Guysborough Municipal School Board; deputy warden for the Municipality of Guysborough, and was a member of the Strait Area Vocational School Board. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of St. Peter's Parish, Larrys River, where he served as warden for many years. Mr. Pellerin had a lifelong love of music, gardening and baseball. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; sons, Russell and wife M.C., Antigonish; Basil and wife Grayce, Carroll, Gordon and wife Mary, Blair and wife Joanne, all of Larrys River; daughter, Isabelle Heine, Peterborough, Ont.; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Alphonso, Ernest; sister, Eva (Mrs. Frank Avery); infant sister, Charlotte; infant brother, Sylvester; grandson, Jean André; son-in-law, Dr. Henry Heine. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at St. Peter's Church, Larrys River. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations to Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to MacIsaac Funeral Home, Antigonish.
