DAVID, J. Alphonse - 74, Port Felix, Guysborough County, died July 16, 1992, at home. Born in Port Felix, he was a son of the late Walter and Lucy (Fougere) David. A lifelong residence of Port Felix, he served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War, was former owner of A&W Grocery, Port Felix; retired school bus and milk driver, warden of St. Joseph's Church, and an active community worker. He is survived by his wife the former Gertrude Hall; four sons, Jim, West Chezzetcook; Keith, Dartmouth; Jerome, Port Felix; Gerald, Eastern Passage; three daughters, Theresa Bond, Dartmouth; Marie, Louise, both of Port Felix; two brothers, Thomas, Larry's River; Rev. Gerald, Halifax; four sisters, Irene Pelerine, Edna, both of Halifax; Dorothy Benoit, Pomquet; Anita Amirault, Manchester, N.H.; seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Elzear. The body is in St. Joseph's Church, Port Felix, visiting 7-9 pm today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. Gerald David officiating. Burial will be in parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church or Guysborough Memorial Hospital. |
