DESCHENES, Catherine Agatha - 89, Halifax, died January 15, 1997, at home. Born at Port Felix, she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret (David) Pellerine. She lived in her early years in Cambridge, Mass., where she met and married her first husband, Joseph Brousseau, then they moved to Magog, Que., before returning to Nova Scotia. She was a member of St. Stephen's Parish, Halifax. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her second husband, Roger Deschenes; sons, William Brousseau, Lower Sackville; Norman Brousseau, Halifax; Paul Brousseau, Dartmouth; Ronald Brousseau, Hammonds Plains; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Brousseau; sisters, Mary Garnet LeBlanc, Christina Cashen, Stella Landry, Evangeline Blakie; brothers, Frederick, William, Sylvester in infancy. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Donald Boudreau officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial at a later date in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. |
