FELTMATE, Donald Steele - 76, Sheet Harbour, died April 1, 1999, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Whitehead, he was a son of the late Angus and Bessie (Munroe) Feltmate. He worked for the fisheries co-operatives throughout the Atlantic provinces for over 40 years before his retirement in 1986. He was a charter member of Royal Canadian Legion, Charlos Cove Branch, as well as a charter member of Forest Hills United Church. He was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and travelling. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Surviving are daughters, Edith Conrod, Dartmouth; Lisa Feltmate, Kashechewan, Ont.; sons, Jim, Fredericton; Glenn, Corner Brook, Nfld.; sisters, Ada Munroe, Halifax; Dora Snyder, Sheet Harbour; grandchildren, Dana, Margaret, Alisha, Austin, Patrick, Sarah and Angela. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Vera Lambert; brothers, Harry, Austin, Everett; sister, Ada in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, service will be 2 p.m. Monday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, Rev. Blake Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation CT fund or Canadian Cancer Society. | |
