Served in the Second
World War, he went overseas with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders in
1944. He was traded to the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders,
9th Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. He landed in Normandy one month after D-Day and was wounded in action on October 26, 1944 in the Breskins Pocket, during the liberation of Holland. After a lengthy hospital stay, he was repatriated to Canada. |
