Mrs. Daniel
Casey
CANSO, May 4, - The death of Mrs. Daniel Casey of Whitehead occurred
at the Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso on April 18 at the age of 82
years and 11 months, after a period of illness. The deceased lived with
her daughter, Mrs. Henry Spears, who so tenderly cared for her since
the death of her husband five years ago. She was a loving and devoted
mother to her family, and was ready to give a helping hand at any time.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a devoted Roman
Catholic, and received the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church.
She leaves to mourn eight children, four sons, Earnest,
of Hazel Hill; Howard, Whitehead; Dennis,
Halifax; and Daniel, Jr., Port Felix East,
and four daughters, Blanche (Mrs. John
Rossong), Hazel Hill; Annie (Mrs. Arthur
DeRabbie), Hazel Hill; Mamie (Mrs. Scott
Hart), Canso and Effie (Mrs. Henry Spears), Whitehead; one sister,
Mrs. Joseph Schrader, Hazel Hill; and one brother, Stephen
Snyder, Truro; 44 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren. The
funeral mass was celebrated by Father Carter, of St. Joseph Church at
Port Felix, and the remains were laid to rest in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery.
The pallbearers were John Rossong, Martin DeLorey, Joseph Casey, Fred
Rossong, Joseph DeLorey, and Francis Rossong.
