ANNIE ELVENA (FRANCIS) SPEARS
SPEARS, Annie Elvena (Francis) - 53, Whitehead, Guysborough County, died Friday in Eastern memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Whitehead she was a daughter of Elizabeth (Casey) Spears, Whitehead, and the late William Spears.
She was a former resident of Dartmouth and was employed with the Nova Scotia Housing Commission, Dartmouth for a number of years. She was recently employed with Antigonish Philatelic Centre. She was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Torbay Branch 117, Charlos Cove, Guysborough county; member of the Dart League; member of St. Joseph's parish, Port Felix. She is survived by three daughters, Kitty (Mrs. John Puchyr), Edmonton; Darlene (Mrs. Royal King), Port Felix; Karen (Mrs. Daniel Duquette), Lower Sackville; a son Bernie, Dartmouth; five sisters, Frances (Mrs. Frank Taylor), Loretta (Mrs. Hugh Taylor), both of Truro; Bertha (Mrs. James Boudreau), Halifax; Lucy, Doris (Mrs. Thomas Parker), both of Whitehead; two brothers, Robert, Port Morien; Howard, Whitehead; four grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret, Georgina; four brothers, Ralph, George, Fred, Alvin. The body is in St. Joseph's Church, Port Felix, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Sunday, where funeral will be 2p.m. Monday, Rev. James Attwood officiating. Burial will be in parish cemetery.
